We Checked in around 11 @ Hattu Valley Home stay (9817196808). It is going to become a guest house soon. This home stay was 500 mtrs from the start of Hatu peak climb.

Activity of the day (Trekking) : We rested and had lunch at our home stay. The family was nice and served tasty food. We then started the climb to Hatu peak around 2:30pm. We did first 3 kms in our car (Polo). The climb is very steep and narrow so go slow. After 3 kms there was snow and we had to walk on foot. Do carry a rain coat always and wear warm, water proof shoes. I had Merell Moab Goretex mid ankle for protection.

Day 2, 4th April ’15

We Slept too much and left for Bhuntar around 11am or so. We actually wanted to camp at Prashar lake but we knew Jalori pass will be slow and messy. It will take a minimum of 8-9 hours to reach Bhuntar but we still went on with an open mind.

Activity of the day (Roadtrip) : The road takes you through an amazing valley called the Kullu valley. You see blue waters of beas river and tall trees.

Bridge after Jalori Pass

The Descend from Jalori pass is very slow and full of Mud. Also there is an extreme drop in altitude and hence brakes are pressed hard. It is EASY TO BURN YOUR BRAKES so make sure you use engine braking while descending. We burnt our brakes on the way down and had to take a break.

So we reached bhuntar at 9pm and checked into a hotel for night stay.

Day 3, 5th April

We left for Prashar lake at 9am. It is a 55kms drive which takes 2 hours or so. But we got two obstacles, one was a broken bridge due to which we had to cross the road through waterfall and second was local villagers cutting tree hence blocking the road.

We kept heading back towards Delhi via Mandi-Shimla-Delhi. We did not take the regular route as roads were broken badly so we went via Shimla and it took 13 hours to reach Delhi.

Thus it was a short trip with everything that one could ask for. We got to see snowfall while climbing Hatu peak, we saw a hectic Jalori Pass, we went through a beautiful Kullu Valley, we saw magical Prashar lake and we saw a lovely sunrise and sunset.

A bride’s story

Here is a Love story:

When a Little girl who is her Grand mom’s favorite kid gives her heart to the Prince charming, That’s Senjuti, the bride.

She chuckles & says for forever, she believed her grandmother was her only mother.

She is nostalgic as she hugged her favorite uncle from Calcutta & Her Maternal Grand Mom.

NKP_2146

Senjuti_With_Yogesh_NKP_1178_20141225Not a traditional Bengali wedding, but an unconventional wedding, as the relatives greet each other. Bhalo Acchi.

Meet the Bride & Groom :

If I had met a bride with biggest grin even, It has to be Senjuti, hands down.

There is something about her smile & I’m sure Yogesh nods in agreement. Or wait , is he blushing ?

Yogesh is a coy bridegroom who is gushing over every sight of Senjuti.

Family Love :

While Senjuti’s mother is gracefully meeting & greeting everyone , I can see a tad little nervousness on her forehead. I complimented her endlessly throughout the night for her grace and composure.

When Senjuti made her way to the decorated stage for her ring ceremony, she is overwhelmed with the moment to come.

It’s like Yogesh & Senjuti are fitting into a frame forever.

So are the families. Tying the knot. Exchanging the vows.

Introductions & laughter on the stage is what I reckon. Blessings on the head, the traditional Indian way.

With Love :

Joan( Close Friend on Yogesh from Toronto present at the ceremony) says Yogesh is happy go lucky but only Senjuti can straighten him out.

And we break into laughter. Insider’s Story : Not many know, they Yogesh & Senjuti found each other at a Bollywood themed party. How Bollywood is that!

It took a while before Yogesh moved on to Red from his Yellow Flowers ? Senjuti Isnt ?

And the Story of two hearts (Caution- It is mushy) :

How much have you believed in the old adage ‘Love makes the world go around’ If earth is believed to be round, love takes a full circle and comes to you in the most metaphorical sense.

Like what happened for our love birds because nothing is very usual in this love story.

This is full of suspense Love story. Meeting in a bus ride? I hadn’t heard of it before but seeing this couple sitting in for ring ceremony, I realized what adventure the bus ride must have been. Popping them questions of how they met and both Yogesh and Senjuti were gushing to tell the love tale.

Like they were reconfirming my believe in what you are seeking is seeking you! *insert hearts*

Did they seize the love? On their first official date Senjuti was thinking love as a bitter leaf but she still decided to chew it and rest is history. I had only heard it that when love comes, you follow it blindfolded. And you reach the same destination. Yogesh is uncurling his fingers & looking at his ring as he stands committed to his beloved today. Senjuti (Bride ): It’s nearly four years of knowing each other and every moment is once in a lifetime with Yogesh.

Carving a love story , that’s how it was supposed to be.

The days are filled with lagoon like emotions, overwhelming and reaffirming at the same time. I feel as the luckiest bride. We are like rain & storm now. Can’t be complete without each other.

Yogesh (Bridegroom) is still Chafed on calmness & it seems his mind is racing in million directions to describe his love & he said how it is said best ‘I love her the Most’.

Supersonic

Supersonic 2014 in Goa : Was it better than Sunburn?

The setup of Supersonic at Candolim beach was magical this time round. I salute Nikhil Chinapa for working hard towards Supersonic. The feel of a real beach is totally different unlike Sunburn’s Vagator beach. When you dance on actual beach sand, it feels like heaven. Day 3 of Supersonic awaited the conclusion from Above and Beyond. Before that was Mat-Zo. I heard Mat-zo earlier this year at Kittu su in Delhi and he nailed it. He is like a mix of all Genres of Edm. Above and beyond was going to be magical and there was no doubt about it.

I realized that Supersonic is trying to make something of its own by supporting fresh EDM artists that are bringing new music to the scene. Sunburn also pulled a lot of fresh artists and also had a powerful commercial aspect. For an EDM explorer like me its not so difficult to prioritize. I just want to try fresh music. The list at supersonic had the likes of Bl3nd and John 00 fleming. For those who have heard them wont go anywhere else. Supersonic is supporting the new artists and that is the best part about them. Their philosophy is to bring fresh music upfront. Above and beyond also supports that via its Group therapy where so many awesome artists come up.

Stage 3

SuperSonic 2014 Candolim beach

The main stage

I want to conclude roughly that for those who really want to discover fresh, kicky, tasty music then he/she must and must go to supersonic. Sunburn is good but they will get you most commercial big shots. Although they have other stages too out of which the hidden stage is the best one. Sunburn’s Dance temple is a phenomena but still did not give me goose bumps.

Horse at Supersonic

The Supersonic setup is not hugely populated and that I think is something I look for. Good music and less shabby people. I attended hardwell at Buddh international circuit , greater noida and it was shit. So many people had come in and I don’t even know how they got the passes. It was a commercial hit but I hated so many people rushing here and there and not enjoying music. 90% were busy taking selfies.

Anyway coming back to Goa. Above and beyond simply touched me like always. They are emotional and yet they know how to make us jump. Its a mix of emotions and bass. I then attended the 4th day of Sunburn with so called “dimitri vegas and like mike surprise”. They played only for 25 mins. I could not ever hear them properly. I felt cheated to be honest. I was hoping they played for 1 hour or so.

So if I was asked where I want to stand if given a choice? Main stage of Super sonic or Main stage of Sunburn? I would say Supersonic.
